Gumaurighat or Kamdhenusthan is located in Baratipur village, ward no. 7 of Nawalparasi. As per the circle like (gumauro) geographical structure of the place, people believe the place could have been named likewise. There is also another popular story about the name of this place. Kali Gandaki River was moving towards south-west direction. While on her way, she saw a kamdenu cow feeding its calf. In order to protect them, she changed her straight course and started flowing in circular pattern. Thus, the name gumaurighat originated. The land within the circular pattern is offered to kali Gandaki which also has a mandir dedicated to the kamdenu cow, Shila representation of goddess Kali and majestic forest. This site is a religiously valuable.
