Known by the name of Nanda (wife of younger brother-in-law) and Vauju (wife of elder brother-in-law), the taal (pond) located in Nawalparasi district Kolhuwa-7, has an equal importance in both useful purpose and religious purpose. A fascinating story lies behind the name. Once upon a time, two women: Nanda and Vauju, having deity power, made a pond pondering upon the utilization of water. In their remembrance, the local people worshipped them for their safety, prosperity and fulfillment of their wishes. It is said that people pray to this deity if they have requirement of any kind of utensils. It is also believed that farming and fishing in the pond is not considered to be a good omen.
